I like to exercise in the morning but can’t motivate myself unless I have at least a cup of coffee first. Is it safe to exercise after I drink coffee? I know caffeine will increase my blood pressure.
Drinking a cup of coffee is normally safe one hour before a workout, unless you have any type of heart condition.
As with any exercise activity, be sure to warm up your muscles first. Then get into your routine at a measured pace, gradually building intensity and raising your heart rate to your target zone.
Then bring your heart rate down gently with a good cool down and stretch. Let your body recover to its normal state.
Getting a jump-start with a cup of coffee may get you going initially (at least mentally), but energy that comes with physical activity is really what will get you through the session.
Just make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the workout.
