What You Need To Know About Botox

Botox is another popular treatment for the face. It is a popular brand name for the botulinum toxin type A. However, Botox is the purified form of the toxin. It can cause food poisoning when taken in large amounts through the mouth. It is used in cosmetic surgery because, when injected through the muscles in small doses, Botox can block the chemical signals that can cause the muscles to contract.

The treatment is usually used for people who want to lessen their wrinkles. There are several areas in the face that can be treated by Botox, such as: the crow’s-feet located at the corner of the eyes, the thick bands on the neck, the frown lines between the bridge of the nose and the eyebrows and the forehead creases.
